As a family-owned and operated business, Budget Uniform looks for employees who will uphold our values of providing the kind of care and service our family has stood behind for three generations– and our sales manager is a perfect example.
Like many of our team members, Jose Sanchez has worked for other providers where he saw the kind of service that drives work uniform customers away. When Sanchez’s previous employer was acquired by a national company, he says there was an immediate difference in the level of service provided. The culture shifted, he said, replaced by an impersonal, profit-driven focus that left Sanchez feeling like his job was to please the shareholders more than the customers.
After Budget made Sanchez a job offer, the award-winning sales representative did his homework and decided that it was a good opportunity to be part of a family-owned business once more.
Award-Winning Sales Representative at Home in the Family Business Culture
Sanchez grew up in northern California’s Salinas Valley and attended California State University Fresno, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing. Since then, he has lived and worked in L.A., building a strong career in sales over the last decade.
Sanchez knew he wanted to find a company that would value his skills and provide him opportunities to contribute more than just numbers. At Budget Uniform, he likes being part of a small team that gives him a voice.
“I enjoy working with the CEO, having my ideas brought to the table, and expanding from there, coming up with solutions,” said Sanchez. He cites Budget’s dedication to integrity, accountability, respect, and transparency as values he sees as the foundation of a successful sales team.
Putting Safety First in a Health Crisis
Changing jobs in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task, but Sanchez was impressed by the safety guidelines that Budget has put in place. Sanchez said he was especially impressed by the care Budget CEO Steve Shrager puts into protecting his employees and customers from the threat of COVID-19.
To Sanchez, it’s all about taking the time to understand the challenges that customers are facing and being someone they can trust. “I like having that interaction with the president of the company and knowing that we are doing the right thing for our customers,” said Sanchez.
In his free time, Sanchez enjoys an active Southern California lifestyle: hiking nature trails and canyons, going to the beach, biking, and attending Dodger games.
