Re: Ongoing Health and Safety Measures for COVID-19 Protection and Beyond

To Our Valued Customers:

We remain open for business as an essential industry and are proud to be able to support the work of all of our customers throughout this pandemic with sanitizing processes and products that include work uniforms, restroom supplies, floor mats and industrial laundering procedures that kill both viruses and germs.

As businesses in the Los Angeles area begin the process of ramping up , we can also provide key support in the effort to help ensure the safety of your workers and customers, and to help instill the confidence that will be necessary going forward.

Below is an overview of some of the processes and safety measures that we have implemented within our own workplace.

Your safety, and the safety of all our dedicated team members here at Budget Uniform, is a foremost concern and we are committed to helping our customers utilize a reliable, safe and cost-effective work uniform program you don’t have to think about.

How We Are Keeping Our Customers Safe

COVID-19 Response

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused businesses across every industry to take a closer look at safety and hygiene practices that can prevent the spread of illness. Many of these precautions are likely to become established measures even after the current threat has abated. Getting employees to continue to work safely will require more than new recommended practices – a successful rebound will also depend on ensuring that employees feel safe and protected. In the uniform and laundry industry, we play an important role in this effort. Here are some of the measures we have put in place.

Social Distancing & PPE

Social Distancing and PPE

We are complying with best practices for social distancing at our facilities, with many employees continuing to work remotely. Production employees and Route Service Representatives have been provided with PPE that includes cover garments, face coverings, gloves, safety glasses, and more.

Personal Hygiene

Personal Hygiene

We are following CDC guidelines and have stocked up to supply additional disinfectant wipes throughout our facility and vehicles. We continue to hold team meetings discussing the importance of personal hygiene, thorough hand washing with hot water and soap for at least twenty (20) seconds, containing coughing and sneezing, and maintaining social distancing.

Temperature Check

Body Temperature Checks

All team members who work in our facility and service our customers are checked at the beginning of each day for fever using a non-invasive infrared temperature probe. Any Budget Uniform employee with symptoms of cough, respiratory illness, and/or fever will be sent home.

UV Light Sanitization During COVID-19

UV Light Sanitization

In addition to already-stringent industry standards for safety and hygiene, we have instituted daily sanitizing of our trucks with a virus-killing UV light system and sanitizing spray foggers. We have also invested in UV light sanitizing equipment for the HVAC units at our facility.

Cleaning

We have added twice-a-day sanitization processes of our plant, stockroom and production facility and taken steps to reduce risk by replacing door handles with foot-operated openers for high-traffic areas. We are also doing additional sanitizing of door handles, restroom fixtures, handrails, non-automatic light switches, keyboards, handhelds, and equipment controls.

Laundering

Laundering

We adhere to strict processes for laundering garments with biodegradable, non-toxic detergents and bleaching agents that eliminate all microorganisms, including COVID-19. This industrial process is highly effective at removing/degrading pathogens with a combination of water temperature, detergency, and/or bleaching, and terminal finishing.

Supply Chain

To protect our clients against any disruption in service or supplies, we maintain multiple manufacturing supply partners throughout North America, ample inventories of merchandise and a contingency agreement with a sister company that will enable continuity of service in the unlikely event that our plant is ever required to close.

Our diligence around the health and safety of our team members and our customers did not start with COVID-19 and it won’t end as we all begin the process of returning to a state of normalcy. We are here to help ensure the safety and security of our customers against a wide variety of health risks that do not go away.

As you begin to contemplate the next phase for your business, we are here to help.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Steve Shrager
